ABOUT
The Designers Behind the Fashion Icons is an editorial design exploration that uses postage stamps as a storytelling medium to celebrate designers who shaped the visual language of prominent fashion and lifestyle magazines. Each spread is dedicated to a single designer, translating their distinct editorial voice into a cohesive yet highly personalized visual system.
THE CHALLENGE
How can the identity of designers known for large-scale, expressive magazine work be distilled into a small, constrained format without losing impact? The challenge was to honor each designer’s legacy while working within the visual and spatial limitations of postage stamps.
MY APPROACH
I adapted each page and spread to reflect the designer’s individual style, drawing from their work in leading fashion and lifestyle publications. Through research-driven visual decisions, I adjusted typography, composition, imagery, and rhythm to mirror each designer’s editorial sensibility, allowing the stamps and surrounding layouts to function as miniature extensions of their magazine work.
